Born in Marshall, Michigan February 13, 1949. Grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan smelling the aroma of cooking Corn Flakes every dat. Attended Post elementary, South Eastern Junior High, and Battle Creek Central graduating in 1968. Due to the Vietnam way, I enlisted into the U. S. Air Force immediately after graduation. While in the Air Force, I was stationed at Wichita Falls, Texas, Rapid City, South Dakota, Clark Field in the Philippines, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was discharged in 1972, and in December 1972 I started a 35 year career with Michigan Bell Telephone Company. I worked as a computer technician eventually being promoted to a Network Operations Manager where I supervised the maintenance of the computer systems that run the telephone network. I watch the company go from Michigan Bell to Ameritech, and then to SBC. Finally, SBC bought AT&T. So, at the end of my career, I retired from at&t. My father was Melvin Grover Minniear who died in 1956. My mother was Edna Bell Pike Minniear, and she passed in 2022. I am the oldest of three with brother Melvin Grover, and sister Ruby Thompson.
My first marriage was to Jeanette J Ebert, and together we had two wonderful sons, Timothy D and Adam H. Both sons went into medicine, Timothy is an Epidemiologist in Memphis, TN, and Adam is a Doctor of Clinical Neural Physiology in Bethesda, Maryland. Each son has blessed me with an awesome grandson and grand daughter. Life has been an awesome ride.
