I am primarily focused on the Raines Cemetery in Pettis County Missouri. I am descended from Rachel and Ambrose Rains, the head of this family here in Missouri. Rachel is buried here, but Ambrose is back in Chatham Co NC. I am descended from John Washington Raines who built the fence and gate.
My biggest challenge is that although John W. is the son of Martha Lockney Rains, he is not the son of her husband Charles Rains. Charles died in 1848 and John was born in 1850. By DNA, I know who the real father is, and if you are interested, drop me a line and I will fill you in.
