LIFE'S PURPOSE: Given Life to Seek God
The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. Schmid (From Moravia to Butler and Platte Co. Nebr), Janicek from Moravia (Czech) to Butler and Platte Counties, Nebr), Seberger-Massoth from SW Germany to Lake Co, Indiana to Polk Co, NE. Gr Grandmother Alta Brown mar. Chet Greathouse (Edwards Co, IL)to NE after 1920. Four generations back, Emmerson of Gibson Co, IN to Edwards Co, IL. Grandpa and Grandma Shilling from England to Edwards Co . Sarah J Shilling mar Greathouse also Edwards Co IL. Baker (Maryland) to Ross and Madison Co, Ohio to Edwards County, IL
Research on Paternal Side: BISHOP & Harrel (IN,to Des Moines Co & Davis Co, IA) ATKINS(Delaware to Van Buren Co ,IA) BROTHERS (Gibson Co,IN before 1852, then IL then NE) DUNCAN-Marvel and DUNCAN-BROTHERS both (IN 1815-1852) Duncan-Marvel 1850-1880 Richland Co, IL. Charles Brothers 1828-1871 b. in Indiana, married first Louisa HOLCOM or HOLCOMB in Indiana , then Mary Elston in IL. He lived in Gibson County Indiana until 1851/52, then in Richland County, Illinois until 1859. Moved Northeast to Logan and DeWitt Counties in Illinois. Charles' son Benjamin married Elizabeth HENDERSON from DeWitt Co, IL Benj. and "Lizzie" moved to Western Nebraska 1888.

DeWitt was used as a middle name for Dad and Grandpa... it took us 117 years to realize that the Grandparents were commemorating where they moved from in their grandson and great-grandson's names.
Most Interesting Occupation:
Whitewasher 1880 Vanderburgh Co, Indiana Man not related to me living in Evansville area. Did that pay well enough to keep one's expenses paid? Did he have a night job?
Most interesting fact about me:
Though most of my families' surnames sound English and German, I am 18% Czech from the original Moravia, (then part of the AustroHungarian Empire), and the northern region called Silesia or Moravia-Silesia where there was strong German influence along the border with Poland. The Moravian people were on Grandma LaVerne's line. 3 of her grandparents immigrated from Moravia= Schmid, Zwiener, Janicek, and a Great-grandparent generation which stayed in Czech had names Hermeth and Zohner, and maybe Matig. The Janicek name was pronounced Yawn'- ee -jek/or Yawn' -ee- shek, but morphed into Johnny-chek in Nebraska, and by 1910 Janicek, (hard J, short a, short i, soft c and short e)
