I'm retired and fortunate to have the time to explore family history in depth. My ancestors were among those who joined the California Gold Rush—crossed the Isthmus of Panama, others crossed the plains by oxen and wagon, and still others rode the first transcontinental railroad to San Francisco. They embraced great challenges to build better lives for themselves and their children.

As for me, I sit at home with my computer, delving into digital records from across the globe. Not quite the adventurer of my predecessors.

I'm especially fond of Find A Grave. It's a valuable tool in my genealogical research, helping me uncover clues and share discoveries. I often contribute biographical sketches to ancestor memorials, ensuring that their stories aren't lost to time but instead live on digitally—accessible to future generations. I encourage others to do the same.
