Please provide your source of information in the Notes or Contact manager when you suggest an edit. If you make a suggested edit without giving a source that I can locate, rather than an immediate decline, I usually message to ask for a source, and I truly appreciate receiving a reply. If I don't receive a reply within a day or so, I usually decline and ask that you resubmit giving your source. If I decline a suggested edit, I give my reasoning, in as far as the limit of the explanation space allows and may send a message if more explanation is needed. I prefer proof for names, dates and places of birth and death. For place of death I am looking for a reliable source which states the person died in a particular town, county or state. Place of residence is not the same as place of death, because people do not always die where they live.

I check the records on ancestry.com and other resources for documentation and accuracy of all suggested edits. If information is given only in family trees, but not in records, it is not considered reliable to me, because of the errors that show up in family trees. We all make mistakes, but it is important for information entered into the memorials to be as correct as possible, as people use Find A Grave as a factual information resource.
