Born 3/8/1946 in Raleigh NC; BA History - Wake Forest University 1968; Graduate US Naval OCS, 2/1969; Naval Line Officer aboard USS Chilton LPA-38, 1969-71; JD Wake Forest University, 1974; Trust Officer at First Citizens Bank ,1975-79; Ass't DA 11th Judicial District, 1979-80; Private practice of law, since 1980 - currently solo practitioner in Lillington, NC - general practice.
Married to the former Diane Everette Clayton since 1973; Two children - Molly Louise Felmet of West Palm Beach, Fla, and Katie Felmet Byrd of Atlanta, Ga; three grandchildren - Gavin Williams, DOB 7/7/2006, Harper Byrd, DOB 8/28/2012, and Clayton Byrd, DOB 3/27/2015.
