I have been involved in genealogy since the mid-seventies. In 2013 I started contributing to FIND A GRAVE. I have added memorials to FIND A GRAVE for countless people, most of whom I am not related. My agenda in doing so is simply to honor the deceased and provide documentation and assistance to those wanting to locate the final resting places of their ancestors and others. Beyond the information and visuals gleaned from locating burials sites, I also contend that such an act can also provide a closure that many find comforting. I am excited when a family member contacts me to transfer a memorial to them, and am sometimes saddened when more requests aren't made. My time on FIND A GRAVE is sometimes sporadic, so please don't be discouraged if I don't respond immediately.

I do presentations on, and occasionally lead tours of the Red Cloud Cemetery, as well as some of the rural cemeteries in Webster County. I have spent thousands of hours documenting parts of the history of Red Cloud and Webster County, Nebraska and truly appreciate how a site such as FIND A GRAVE provides a platform for us to honor and memorialize those who have gone before.

One of my projects involved creating the first phase of a walking tour that depicts earlier days of the downtown area of Red Cloud, Nebraska. It is accessible via QR codes located on the historic lamp posts and can also be found on the website www.walkredcloud.com. It is also accessible through various other local websites. Currently about 25%of what has been planned has been completed. If you have ancestors associated with Red Cloud or are just interested in history in general, I encourage you to check it out.

Besides my families and those of my husband's, I mostly concentrate on families associated with the southern two-thirds of Webster County, and personalities associated with the novels of Willa Cather.
