I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with degrees in History and English. I taught school for 21 years and started with gravestone conservation 12 years ago. I was trained by Jon Appell of gravestoneconservation.com at the Campbell Center in IL. I follow the National Park Service guidelines for conservation, and I will give suggestions for conservation of any stone, relating the 'best practices' known at the time. I'm no longer taking on any new work, but trying to finish up the stones that I have under contract. After those are completed, my intent is to do conservation work without charge as I can squeeze it into my schedule, and do presentations to cemetery groups and historical associations if asked.
