I have been doing family history since 1981 sporadically but since 2000 regularly. I am related to Find A Grave's Marty & Harley and we exchange information regularly.
Unfortunately I am not in any of the areas of my family roots, so research is slow going for me. A big thank you to Marty for helping me find records and information in most of the area my ancestors are from. Find A Grave has been a great help and keeps getting better and better all the time.
If I ask for a transfer, I will NOT delete your memorial and create a new one under my name! I am horrified that people on this site do this. This is so disrespectful and against findagrave rules. Credit needs to be given to the person researching, creating the memorial, posting photographs and documents. I do this on my personal family history program also using Contributor names and contributor numbers. True family history does not have just one persons name on each fact or event. It "takes a village!" A village of people you may or may not know, who are trying to help families connect to their ancestors. You must verify each piece of information yourself but you still give credit to the person you got the information from. I am not in any areas that mine or my husband family was from. I am grateful to all the contributors here for all their hard work! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to findagrave.
I am researching the surnames on Mothers' side, Cremer/Kremer, Bruski, Marking, Walker, Isbell, Edwards plus a few others.
Surnames on my fathers' side; Abbott, Jones, VanKirk, Amerhein, Shoemaker/Schoonmaker, Bellis, Joslin, McKinney, plus a few more. My ancestors in the USA were from New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, South Dakota, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska and onto Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and other states.
Surnames on my husband's side: Bixler, Romberger/Rumberger, Woll, Wolfgang, Boyer, and others originally from the Schuylkill Pennsylvania and scattered into other counties as well. Holmes, Densley, Smith from England
