Some of my fondest memories as a child are attending family reunions with my parents, grandparents and great aunts. Being just a child, it was overwhelming the number of people in attendance and impossible at such a young age to remember all of them. When I became older, I decided to learn all I could about the family I had met in my younger years, most of whom were no longer with us. I wanted to know who everyone was and how we were all tied together.

I started doing genealogy work and I have been researching our family history for 40 years now. I learned of the Find a Grave site a few years ago and decided when I retired this was how I wanted to fulfill my days. That day has arrived. I am just beginning and am mostly working on my family members, but due to the great work already done by others, I'm finding it much easier than I thought. I intend to 'pay it forward' by doing the same work for others who might be needing help locating their loved ones.
