I have been using Find A Grave to help me fill in some of my family history project. It has been interesting to look at burial places and see how the various communities may have been linked.
I have been visiting several Florida cemeteries on a fairly regular basis because of the family connections. I have photos that may be of use to various Find A Grave members, but they are on film and need to be scanned.
My favorite cemetery is the Captiva Island cemetery in Florida; I know no one there, but it is a beautiful resting place with a perfect view of the sunset. Another lovely spot is Bethlehem Cemetery in Dover, Florida. The grave markers are often unique handmade ones there; I think that is far more interesting than the park-style cemeteries.
Some of my interests include the following family and place names:
DeShong, Johnson, Blackshear, Nelson, Sumner, Paulk, Everritt/Everitt.
Hillsborough and Pasco counties, Florida. Early Irwin County, Georgia.
