Bill Farrel was born in New London, Conn. on February 15, 1944. He is the son of William Stanley Farrel and Margaret Ellen Kelleher. His father was a naval officer and Annapolis graduate. He was lost on the submarine USS Snook in April, 1945. His mother remarried a US Marine officer, George Frank Waters, Jr. of Knoxville, TN in 1948. Bill was raised on various military bases and in communities in southern California, North Carolina, Virginia, and Hawaii. In 1962 the family finally settled in the San Francisco Bay area. His step father passed away in 2008, and his mother in 2012. Bill worked in business administration fields and later in city and county planning agencies as a planning director and consultant in central California. Bill maintains an ancestry tree "Farrel Kelleher Family Tree". He is currently seeking information on gg grandfather Thomas Farr (Fair) born in Virginia in 1799 died in Lacon, Ill. in 1873 - and wife Mary Rebecca Evans-Peer born in Virginia in 1822 and died in Zepp, Shenandoah County, VA in 1899.
