I am my family's genealogist, although I would never claim to be one. The first four family names are Harmon, Tibble, Bailey and Boven. I am most familiar with the Boven family, thanks to family genealogists who have gone before me, and the wonderful GEDCOM and other resources they left to me.
I remember my grand-uncle showing me the museums of Holland, Michigan and telling me about my first ancestors on the shore of Lake Michigan. And now I've found many of my first ancestors on the Atlantic shores, including some aboard the Mayflower and others who arrived in America soon after. The Rev. Roger Williams and others were early settlers, governors of their states and fighters in the Revolutionary War.
