After I retired, my Uncle convinced me to help him add information to our family "Find a grave" sites. He wrote several biographies which I added for his brothers, sisters and other family members. My uncle has passed away now along with many other close family members. I haven't added anyone to find a grave other than my relatives.
Although the work of many contributors to find a grave are doing a public service, I wish there were a period of time and respect given to immediate family members before creating new sites. While I was busy making funeral arrangements and mourning the loss of my Mother, a stranger added just the facts from an announcement in the paper. A few days after the funeral when I was ready to set up a page, I had to request a transfer before I could prepare a memorial. This just added to my stress and sadness.
