My primary cemetery research is the Walker Family Cemetery located in Bleckley County, GA. The cemetery dates to the early 19th century. I am a Walker Family descendant; George Walker II was my 3rd great grandfather.
I've been actively researching and documenting the Walker Cemetery for over 20 years. As a retired archaeologist and historian my first task was to formally map the cemetery and document each grave. I have approximately 2000 photos documenting each grave multiple times in this time period. There are also some photos from 1962 and 1980s. The photos document natural aging changes and vandalism.
Beginning in 2021, along with my cousin we have been repairing many of the graves and monuments. This is an ongoing project. She is also a Walker descendent; George Walker II was her 4th great grandfather.
