My genealogical journey began in 1981 at the funeral of my Grandmother, Clara. A distant 2nd cousin regaled me with a story of our grandfather that fought in the civil war and lost his leg doing so. It was at that moment that I was hooked! For the first 20 or so years I did it the hard way; trips to courthouses and graveyards, phone calls and sifting thru hours of microfilm/fishe hunting for clues. I'm very grateful for the ability to research from my living room in my jammies! I am always researching these lines: SMITH, FANTE, KRAUS, PETERS/PITRE, GERVAIS/JARVIS, CHIERICHETTI, BARR, LAZZARINE, TREASTER, BAUER, MARCH, SWEET, CHANEY, SIPE, MIRE and more!
