I am Linda Wingard Parrish and I live in Alabama. I started researching my Wingard ancestors in Aug. of 2013 and it has become a journey that has taken me into many new avenues of my family I never knew existed. We moved to Prattville in 1966 and I never knew so many Wingard's lived so close in Autauga, Elmore and Coosa counties and in South Carolina until I started looking for them. Most of the oldest Wingard's have gone on home now but it has been great joy looking at their graves and finding information on them.
I have always enjoyed going to cemeteries since I was a teenager and looking around. My children and grandchildren think I'm a bit crazy looking up all those dead people but I enjoy it. I only wish I had started when my Dad was still living. I think about my relatives who have gone on before and wonder what kind of life they had. I wish I could find more about them then just whats on their headstones but that happens only occasionally . In the meantime, I'll keep on searching.
