I got interested in adding family members to Find a Grave when no one could tell me what cemetery a loved one was buried in. After some questioning, I found that the usual way to find where a person was buried was to do an exhaustive search through someone's obituaries. This was not acceptable to me.

I started by adding my immediate family members and branched out from there. When no obituary was available, I was surprised at how wrong people's memory could be.

So, through attrition, I have slowly been adding family and friends to this site. I am also interested in updating as many local cemeteries as I can.
