Hello, I'm Josette Marie, born in New York City in 1979, and now living in the Bronx with my family. My genealogical journey is a passion, tracing diverse ancestral roots: my father's Scandinavian and Acadian-Irish heritage, and my mother's Bavarian, Sicilian, and Irish lineage. I delight in discovering family histories, such as my 2nd great-grandfather Adam Blasius Schramm from Bavaria, and great-grandfather Calogero Piro from Sicily. Documenting ancestors and helping others uncover their family stories is my mission, and I look forward to connecting with others through this shared endeavor.
One of my Ancestor heroes is John O'Connor, my 2nd great-grandfather. At 16, he immigrated to New York in 1881, famously enduring seasickness by sleeping on a pile of potatoes during the voyage. In 1890, he married Mary Bonus from County Meath, Ireland, and they had seven children. A teamster in Hackensack, NJ, John was known for delivering coal with his two white horses and hosting a personal Saint Patrick's Day parade. He was a proud Irishman, a devoted family man, and a regular parishioner at Holy Trinity Church.
