I enjoy doing genealogical research, not just for my own family, but other people's families as well.
A favorite hobby is buying old photographs (and sometimes school yearbooks) in antique malls and doing the research necessary to find an existing family member to whom I can return the photo. I also see the value in saving images of obituaries here which are encountered in newspaper archives during this research. These people may not be related to me, but preserving the information and memory is important to someone.
