I love being able to honor my deceased relatives, no matter how distant they are.

It is part of their history and mine. If I find a family member who is deceased and there is no memorial for them I will set it up. It is my honor to do so.

My family trees have Seeger, Wood, Greis, Motz, Schneider [Snyder], Buss, Jones, Ritter, Clauss, Kletter, Landis, these are just a few of the immediate family. I am a direct decendent of Johann Jacob Buss & Anna Maria Cathrine Kletter; Edward Wood & Mary Hargreaves; Gottlieb Johann Seeger & Sophia Scherz & of Samuel Jones & Mary Landis. I am still working on tracing some of these families back in time.

I am open to transferring management of any individual who isn't directly related to me or my family. When requesting a transfer, please state your relationship to the deceased and use the "Edit" tab. Also, please use the "Edit" tab if you see something that needs to be corrected or if you have any additional information for a memorial.

As many of the memorials that I have added were done for Lancaster Cemetery, I will transfer these when a family member comes in with changes and requests a transfer.

I will NOT just change information on a memorial without some proof of that change, as I do not know if the information given is correct. I have seen too many changes made on my family's memorials [that were not created by me] that have errors because they were not checked by the owner of the memorials or those that were posting the information to be added. You can upload obituaries or type them out in the bio area.

I am working on my own family tree so I do NOT have the time to verify changes when sent to me, unless they are memorials for my family.

You are correct in that memorials are transferred for relatives with these close relationships: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle, or first cousin. This would also include adoptive, step and in-law versions of these relationships. If two members are related within these guidelines and both would like to manage the memorial, the member with the closer relationship should be given management.

Now, these are the transfer guidelines as to when we require transfers to be made. However, members can choose to transfer memorials outside of these relationship guidelines, but our team will only step into mediate a transfer within these guidelines.

Now, IF this is a case where you ARE related to the memorial, please forgive my error, and disregard my assumptive comments.

With the advent of DNA matches, I would think that, on occasion, I'm related closer than an UNrelated volunteer-photographer, yet, because my relationship is to my 6th great grandfather, or 5th cousin, 3x removed, the memorial transfer can be declined?
