This all started with a genealogy search ;) Now we are headstone fanatics.One of us has visited the same cemetery all my life to see the same 6 graves that I knew were relatives. Now with my search I've found at least 15 in the same cemetery that are either grandparents or aunts and uncles. This is an adventure that we have to unfold for ourselves as the ones before us can't guide us if it wasn't written in a book and passed down generation to generation.
I'm also a florist, so my passion is making that last tribute of flowers from a friend or loved one. I guess you can say I love a good headstone ;) And the other of us Cisters lives so far from her home town that she can't visit the graves of loved ones close to her, so she visits local sites near Fresno/Clovis.
We have learned so much from walking thru cemeteries and reading stones, some have great stories to tell. We've learned a bit about the Indian burial grounds and small private places that require permission to enter.
We just love a good headstone!
