I'm the maiden aunt parents keep the kids away from at family reunions - a not-quite-amateur genealogist who is five years into tending the family kudzu vine. In the process, I've amassed a great deal of random historical information and developed an odd fascination with graveyards. My impossible dream is a family branch with more than five male and five female names in the pool.
I am researching my paternal Mann-Anderson-Hudson-Leacock Irish/Scottish lines and my maternal Chambers-Howard-Hadley-McCorkle English/Irish/Scottish lines. There is a reason one art teacher said my face is so Anglo-Saxon, it should be illegal. I also have Edmundsons and Mendenhalls and Grays and Hollingsworths (and so forth) in my lines. Surprise.
And yes, I am directly descended from The Irish Hammer, old William Edmundson himself, but not on the side I would have expected... of course.
I have been known to wander graveyards taking pictures. They end up here when I do. If they are your ancestors, I'm happy to pass them along if you want. Unless they're also my ancestors, and then we can negotiate.
