My Aunt Marguerite Pensinger researched Pensinger genealogy for over 50 years without the help of the computer. My family continues to be enthralled with the study of it. It all began with Bartlyme Bentziger (spelling varies) who came from Germany on the ship, Patience on August 11th, 1750 through the port of Philadelphia.
My mother began to research her great grandmother Lucina Mellott Kellner. She focused on the Mellotts of Fulton County. It began with Jean Pierre Melot born the son of Gideon Marlet and Marie Marjin (Martin), his wife. They had been married in Holland and then emigrated to Staten Island in New Amsterdam (now New York) in 1662.
Now I am delving into more detail and my other linages. A few are Kellner, Snyder, Gordon, McFadden, Stevens, Rhodes, and Brant. Many lived in Pennsylvania.
I have always loved cemeteries. Because of Find a Grave I have developed a new hobby: searching for graves. My daughter thinks I'm cool! There is a lot of history in the area I live in. I will do my best to fulfill photo requests in south central Pennsylvania near the Mason-Dixon Line.
