My family has a long and varied history. As an Archibald / Archambault, we trace our lineage to France via Montreal, Canada. The Archibalds married into the Lacey / Baskerville / Fogarty families, among the oldest and leading names of the Emerald Isle. They also married the Dutch Van de Bogarts who arrived in North America in the 1630s and intermarried with native American Mohawks. Pre-colonial farmers, Schenectady Massacre survivors and a veteran of the American Revolutionary War round out that lineage.
I have had the honor to stand in the church in Youghalarra, Tipperary, Ireland, the place where my Baskerville ancestors prayed. We are an old Norman family which traces our lineage to William the Conqueror and the events of 1066.
On my mother's side, the Greenley name is a derivation of a Polish name, Ziolkowski. We also are direct descendants of the extremely rare Wojtyla name. We had a Polish bishop in the family by the name of Karol Wojtyla. The world knew him as Pope John Paul II.
