I want everyone to know that whatever files or information I have, whatever pictures I have, feel free to take copies. No need to ask first. I have stuggled in the past to find out information on family. God bless those who are willing to share freely. We all have the same goals, to find our families.
Our brick wall is my husband’s 2X great grandfather on his Dad’s side, who came from Virginia in 1845 or before, to settle in Callaway County, MO. We know about his life, children and 2 marriages while living there, but have not found parents or siblings, or, where in Virginia they lived. (Jeremiah Saunders/ Jerry) 1821 or 22 to 1896).
My brick wall is my 2x great grandfather on my Dad’s mother’s side. They came from Pfaffenweisbach, Hessen, Germany to settle in New Hanover, Monroe, IL. They came by ship and landed in New Orleans, LA. He came aboard the Ship Charles Ferdinand, July 3, 1846, bound for St. Louis, MO. He was Hinrich (Henry) Boyen, later changed to Boien. His parents were Jacob Hinrich, Gesche, and sisters, Etha Get and Gretje Boyen. I have tracked his married life and death, wife and children, but, can not find anything on the rest of his family, parents or siblings. I only have their names from the ship manifest. I assumed they died on the trip but the area on the manifest that usually lists this, lists instead, how many suitcases they brought with them.
