I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. My father, Sven Almind Hedegard, was born in Kjellerup, Denmark. He came to America with his parents to visit his brother and sister who had immigrated to America the year before he was born. They decided to stay. There were seven children and all but one brother immigrated to America.
My mother, Martha Nadine Rodgers, was born in Indianapolis. She was an only child and her mother passed away when she was eight. Her family came from Kentucky- Rodgers, Hyatt, Means, Pryor.
I have been interested in exploring my family history but seems I am not very good at it.
