I'm a Yorkshireman, originally from Wakefield in the West Riding the area where most of the maternal side of my family - Crawshaw/Whiteley from Ripponden, Barkisland, Rishworth and Bottomley from Ossett and Dewsbury - hail from.
I now live in North Yorkshire where my Wife's maternal side - Stellings, have history extending back to the 17th Century.
I was a soldier for 37 years and now lead a number of tours each year to First and Second World War battlefields.
