I have been reseaching family hisory for about 50 years. I have for several decades looked for my great grandfather Simon Hansen Prestløkken who emigrated from Sør-Fron, Norway in 1870 without success. But in 2024 I found out that he had lived for a long time in Marinette, Wisconsin. He had changed his name to Samuel Hanson. That made it difficult to trace him in his new country.
