Native Californian. Grew up in the El Cajon Valley. Witnessed the construction of Interstate 8, Parkway Bowl, Parkway Plaza, Grossmont College and Civic Center. Cruised Oscar's Drive-In on Magnolia Avenue, Friday or Saturday night at the Rancho, Campus, Aero, Ace or Santee Drive-Ins. Swap meet at the Aero on Sundays. Spent many hours in Mike's Model Shop on Main Street. El Cajon was my "American Graffiti".
