Hello!
I have enjoyed Find A Grave for over 10 years now (actually more than that!) and appreciate all the information and hard work that has been shared for all of us interested in our family history.
Our family also has a small cemetery (Mackey-- Parker Cemetery) on our family place, and we are caretakers for our departed "friends". However, it was astonishing to discover recently that my family is also descended from the same first Mackey, and so, our friends are now our distant cousins!
I have been involved in research and genealogy for around 50 years, starting by helping my mother and now it is a passion. I have also started in 2024 to add suggested edits on Find-A-Grave for my family and extended family as I move through my trees in hopes that it helps someone in the future. My main lines of interest are rather long now but started with Hall, Turner, Myers, Kleckley, Eason, Dudley, Duncan, Richardson, Patillo, McNiel, May, Boggan, Herndon, Dewberry, Clark, Garner, and Mott. (mostly centered in the South (but I do know my ancestors who were here in North America in 1600s.)
I do like to travel to cemeteries however in 2024 my health has slowed that down!
