When I was a young girl, I enjoyed walking around the cemetery down the gravel road from my grandmother's house in rural Wilkinson County, Mississippi. I would use my imagination and make up dramatic stories based on the names on the headstones. At that age, it was how I explored and began to love being at the cemetery.

I went to nursing school and have been doing home health nursing for over 25 years now. I have found cemeteries where you would think noone could exist. I will pack my lunch and sometimes find a quiet cemetery to wander around and eat my lunch, especially when working in the rural areas of Mississippi.

I have always been fascinated by cemeteries. Over the past year, I have started learning of my own family history and it has taken me to several cemeteries. I found this website which has been extremely helpful in making family connections.
