Ben was born in Portland, Oregon in the community of Sellwood in S.E. Portland. He attended Sellwood Grade School and Washington High School graduating in June 1944. He served in the U.S.C.G. for his duration and 6 month enlistment period in 1945 and 1946. After returning home he attended Multnomah College and graduated in 1948. In 1948 he went to work for Fred Meyer Inc. where he met Reva and they were married in 1949. Ben spent the next 41 years in various capacities with "Freddy's" retiring in 1989. Reva was also born in Portland and lived with her family mostly in the Montavilla community. She attended Washington High School until she was spirited away by Ben. We are the parents of 5 children (Two deceased). We have 13 grandchildren and 16 great grands and 2 great great grands (as of 06, 13, 2021). We became interested in family history about 35 years ago and have continued to actively pursue that course until our health interfered with our out and about activities. We now live in a comfortable mobile home where Ben and Reva's home care workers take care of Reva. The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful life and in 2018 we celebrated the anniversary of our 69 years together. We thank the Lord for each day He continues to give us together. On September 24, 2018 the Lord called Reva home and now she rests in Heaven with all of our departed love ones. Ben continues alone and looks forward to the day when he and his beloved Reva can walk hand in hand again.
