In addition to memorializing members of my extended family tree I also am interested in findagrave's value in genealogy and history. I thank the many volunteers that have located, photographed and posted many of my family in this database. During my research and traveling to find and document members of my family I have added memorials, additional information and some corrections to many others and I hope it has helped and pleased those involved. To those few who have reacted with some hostility and or condescension to the use of this great resource for genealogy I am sorry if I haven't met your standards or inconvenienced you in any way.

I am interested in the Jordans of Darlington county SC and the ancestors and descendants of Henry Pierce Jordan, my oldest known Jordan ancestor, who moved to south central AL shortly before the Civil War. I hope one day to find his parents and siblings. I am also interested in the Stokes, Lloyds and Raines of Darlington county SC and the Merritts of Columbus county, NC starting with Van Buren Merritt 1847-1909 who is my GGGrandfather.
