I like to honor my deceased relatives because I literally owe my existence to them. I believe we ought to honor and to remember our ancestors because it is because of them we now exist; indeed, it is through us and our children that our ancestors have eternal life and live on through real time travel by the DNA which they have passed on to us, and we in turn have passed unto our children, or will pass on to our future children. If we are able and have the opportunity, it is both our duty and privilege to have children, thus continuing our family's blood line, allowing both ourselves and our ancestors continued life and time travel through future generations.

People often times argue and debate concerning the existence of God, religion, politics, the economy, money, and so forth, yet they fail to realize that the ultimate truth and reality runs through their veins, their blood. If one cuts himself he will bleed, and if he bleeds too much he will die; indeed, our family's DNA is true and real and must be cherished and understood as such. Whenever one thinks about his ancestors or visits their graves, he then becomes plugged into his ancestors' collective consciousness of which he is a part, and his ancestors in turn are likewise aware and in communion with his consciousness.

When I studied my Catholic catechism years ago I understood this to be the doctrine called "The Communion of Saints" in which the souls of the deceased had full communion with the living when the latter prayed a prayer like the rosary. Yes, you or I can pray to our ancestors or think of them and have full communion and fellowship with them in a very real way if we so desire; indeed, our dearly departed and ancestors want and look forward to our prayers and remembrance of them. So let us remember our dearly departed and ancestors often and not be spiritually blind, self-centered, selfish, or obstinate.
