I started doing Family History in 1980, before that it was called being nosy.
I think for me it is a calling, you research these family members and find all types of things they have gone through in their life, you know them, you feel them, you Love them, you are proud they are your family.
I have three sons and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
