I am Jackie Russell. My parents are Jack and Shirley (Melvin) Zimmer. I was born in Herrin, IL, and raised in Washington, IL. I graduated from Washington Community high school and attended Illinois Central College.
I became interested in genealogy 6 years ago. Not much was known about our Melvin side because my grandfather lost his mom and dad when he was young.
Discovering FAG was a real game changer. At first, most of my family were not on the site, so I set about adding them and linking the family together.
I have been researching the Zimmer, Melvin, Phillips, Prather, Ledbetter, Fowler, Mansell, Carr, Williams families for myself. I have also researched my son's Fuller and Purcell family going back to the Mayflower on his father's side.
I enjoy the search and linking the families together.
