First, and most importantly, you may use any photo that I take, without any further permission from me, and absolutely no need to add an attribution. I do this as a service, not for recognition. Second, if I create a memorial for your relative, and the subject is not related to me, I will be extremely honored to transfer the memorial to you. I want our ancestors remembered, and don't really care how it gets done, as long as it is.

My love of cemeteries led me to learning the *proper* way to clean and repair stones. Far too many people think bleach and pressure washers are the answer. Even 2 minutes of research would show that those are the absolute worst things you can do to a stone, particularly an old one. I follow the guidance of the Cemetery Conservators for United Standards, the National Preservation Technology group, and the Association of Gravestone Studies. I do not follow guidance from uninformed cemetery caretakers or granite salespeople. I use D/2, lots of water, and very soft brushes for proper cleaning. "Do no harm".
