My father and his parents' families lived in Fayette County, PA, predominantly in Wharton Twp and Georges and North Union Townships.
Some family names include Carroll, McCu(o)llough, McCartney, Scott, Sloan, Means, Handlen, Bosley and Eicher.
I enjoy using the archives in the Pennsylvania Room in the Uniontown library for old obituaries, for example. I also visit and decorate graves in Wharton & North Union Twps. and Uniontown for Memorial Day, and contribute toward upkeep of several cemeteries, including Sylvan Heights and Oak Grove/Oak Lawn cemeteries in Uniontown, Percy/Fairview cemetery, Sansom Chapel cemetery. and Chalk Hill cemetery.
These are historic areas; relatives and ancestors are cited in published histories of Fayette Co and the National Road/Pike, and in papers on display at Fort Necessity visitor center.
I also was born and grew up in Fayette Co. PA.

Some participated in the white pine lumbering industry, many more were farmers. Cemeteries include Rowley cemetery in Hillsdale; Old Citizens/Cherry Tree cemetery; East Mahoning Baptist Church cemetery; Taylorsville cemetery; and Deckers Creek cemetery.
My parents met in Fayette County when Mother's father became the Methodist minister for a circuit of churches with the home church in Percy, North Union Twp. in 1929.
