Born & raised in Pensacola, FL. I now live in Viera, FL (since 2006) and retired in 2020.
I've been researching my families since 2007 & in 2011, I wrote a 234-Page book on The Stephens' Ancestors and Other Pioneer Relatives of the 1800's - 1900's; complete with census & military records, photos and family stories.
My 2nd GGF, Samuel Stephens (son of John & Jane Stephens that migrated from Columbus County, NC to Little Oak, AL in 1824) enlisted in the CSA in Troy, AL in 1863 with Capt. Andrew Love's 4th Alabama Cavalry Battalion along with his brothers, James E. & Needham Stephens. All 3 came home from the war and I'm currently researching/compiling their journey and the battles they fought in.
Other direct family surnames are Worley, Jones, Kelley, Stroud, Ziglar & Thames. Most of the family were in the Pike & Crenshaw Counties and migrated down into Covington County, AL years later.
