Lynn is a local history and ethnobotany specialist in a public library. Her graduate work is in cultural resource management. She worked several years in small college library settings, as well as in special collections and archives in a university library. Lynn enjoys research in general and particularly enjoys local and family history projects. She serves as a chapter historian in the NSDAR.

Active in a county historical society and its museum, Lynn is also versed in the historical roles and cultural uses of native plants of the American West. She is active in her state's native plant society and other landscape-related institutions in her home area. She is also a native plant master trainer for her local state university extension service.
