My start in genealogy began in February 2016 with passing of my Uncle Albert. Albert was a veteran and had served in the United States Navy and with the help of some friends was able to honor Uncle Albert with a Military Funeral with Military Honors ceremony and 21 gun salute. The funeral was June 2016 at the National Cemetery in Florida for Uncle Albert. Uncle Albert lived with my family when we were kids. My parents were helping him get a start on life after the Navy. He was my uncle and like a a brother so I would call him my bruncle. Uncle Albert was the best man for me in 1987 when I got married. Since uncle Albert's passing and his funeral my focus has been genealogy for family and friends. My grandfather Thomas Chester Barham had spent many years of his life working in family genealogy. Some of his work has assisted me in this quest. This Find A Grave and it's community is a lot of fun and education. Plus the best part is I'm meeting a lot of great people with the similar interest and passion.
Name spellings for a name may have several possible spellings because of a specific name change or a misspelling.

I'm glad that I have sponsored all my family members and have submitted DNA tests. My mother did this before she passed. This is helping to zero in on my grandmothers family.
One of the more exciting event in the past few months is the results of the DNA provided by Ancestry.com. Because of this I located a family member I never knew I had. My grandmother's sister was not married and in a family way in 1936. I have found and contacted the baby put up for adoption in 1936 now(2017) 81 years old. My aunt has now met her first cousin and they live less than ten miles from one another. I would encourage everyone to get the Ancestry.com DNA test results ASAP.
Finally I'm very happy to report my membership to Sons of the American Revolution and Descendants of the Mayflower. I have located over 20 connections to veterans of the Revolutionary War and over two to the Descendants of the Mayflower Society. One of my Mayflower Descendants was also at Colony of Jamestown a few years earlier in 1607. In addition connections established to the Fille Du Roi Society and Veterans to the American Civil War.
