I have been researching my family heritage since the 1970s, inspired by my grandmother Catherine Moore Richter. She meticulously documented her family ancestry, the Moore and Coffey families who had roots in Scotland, Ireland, and England. My grandmother also documented my grandfather, Henry Leopold Richter Sr.'s family, Richter from Germany, and Kalabis from Moravia (now the Czech Republic). My husband Lloyd and I travel to places throughout the US where we have family history, often going to cemeteries to find the final resting places of our relatives and ancestors. My direct family names are Richter, Wood, Kalabis, Moore, Coffey, Stirdivant, Clevenger, and Roerden.
