Bio
I was born 12 Jul 1945 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Canada. I met my wife, Meta, in 1964 in her parents kitchen in Seaforth, Ontario. A friend had brought me along to double date her friend. She was fun to be with but her soon-to-be ex, boyfriend, was not that keen on her. I liked her and we married in 1965. Love was there but liking a person and loving a person.....well, they are not the same. Liking a person happens pretty fast. Love takes time to grow. I liked her for a very long time. Slightly more than 50 yrs and 4 children later, I lost her to cancer.
I started work after school and weekends at 8 yrs old. Our generation seemed to be ready for work much earlier than more recent generations. Generally speaking, we were on our own making our way through life by the time we were about 18 compared to the mid 20s or later now. I fully retired in 2010 from getting paid but not from working.
Our family history research was started in the early 1970s by my maternal Grandmother, continued by my Father and I took that on after he passed in 1997. My research has proven much easier and faster than the letter-writing, long waits, and personal visits my predecessors endured. Thank you Mr Internet.
I am the type of person that enjoys helping whenever I can. From sharing research information and taking photographs that may be requested or maybe just exchanging a few words along the way. I am alone now - time is not an issue. My children are making their own family memories and my grandchildren are doing the same, albeit some aren't at that "move out" age yet.
