I am a United Church of Canada Minister who visited Pier 21 in Halifax over a decade ago and upon spotting "A Canadian is an immigrant with seniority" started my pursuit of our family story. Since then I have found family rooted in 6 provinces... and countless countries... and this has confirmed my belief that it is never us and them, rather it is always us... all of us, humanity. We are in this together! We are deeply connected and interconnected. We are resilient, adaptable, have known hardship, disease, intolerance... and yet we survive and thrive!

Newly retired, I spend my time most days... unraveling our shared story by visiting, photographing, recording, and transcribing cemeteries so you might better know your story! So far I have visited over 300 cemeteries (many, multiple times), photographed and transcribed over 260,000 photos, documents, OGS cemetery listings, newspaper notices... created over 76,000 memorials and completed over 550 photo requests!

Perhaps it's because I've always loved doing jigsaw puzzles, this human puzzle fascinates me; knowing the marrying of local/regional/global history to real people and their lives is truly a puzzle that we can complete together!
