I am the Co-Founder & Executive Board Member of the Martinez Cemetery Preservation Alliance (MCPA) martinezcemetery.org. Our organization was built to beautify, preserve and advocate for the Alhambra Pioneer Cemetery in Martinez, California. I am also the 1st Vice President and Events Chair of the Contra Costa County Genealogy Society.

The Alhambra Pioneer Cemetery decedent lists have not been updated for a very long time and descendants were getting misinformation from the originators. I took on restoring the lists 7 years ago and have found 580 misspelled names, 873 missing decedents, and 92 names to numbered markers in Potter's Field through 3,514 Obituary, Death, and Funeral notices. This does not include the 2,829 other sources for 3,866 decedents.

Every descendant has a right to find their ancestors and every decedent should have a voice. That is my goal.
