I grew up in Mount Clemens, Michigan, but I have lived out of state for most of my adult life,with occasional visits to Michigan cemeteries for genealogy purposes or checking on graves of loved ones. I have been interested in genealogy since I was 17 with the passing of my paternal grandmother. At that time, I began cemetery hopping with my Dad in search of local cemeteries where ancestors are buried. My relatives populated the Macomb County area starting in the 1800s traveling from the east, mostly New York, Canada, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Find a Grave has been so helpful in finding information from a distance. Along with my husband, I continue to explore cemeteries and one never knows where that may lead to.
