Hello!
My name is Sandra Johnson and in April of this year I moved from central Florida to South Carolina. I live here with my two dogs and we are a very happy little family.
I retired from Seaworld as an artist but I never retired from BEING an artist. I spend most of my time working on hobbies. I love to paint but have other hobbies as well. My work can be seen here: https://www.pinterest.com/originalhipster/
My mother was Loraina Evans and my father was Bailey McCoy Bircheat.
I am no longer a member of Ancestry.com but I had my DNA tested and created a family tree. So interesting to learn about all the many ancestors I had and there were a lot. Most were from Scotland, Ireland and England with a few in Norway and a very small percentage in Switzerland.
I never knew much at all about my ancestors when I was growing up. My parents never discussed it for some reason. I only found out about my heritage when I had my DNA tested and I actually had it tested by two different companies. The results were very close. 100% European.
The Native American DNA did not show up which is not unusual and I didn't figure it would anyway. There was a Native American relative on my father's side and my mother's paternal grandmother was 3/4 Cherokee. The DNA was distributed throughout their children (which were many) and by the time it got to me, there wasn't any. I never met these relatives but have actually talked to a second cousin who verified that my maternal great grandmother was part Indian.
This has no bearing on me however because my mother and grand parents never talked about it so I grew up never knowing anything about the woman.
