Virginia Girl because our family has lived in Virginia for 300 years. A few have broken away to start new lives in other states, including myself. I'm our family genealogist and find that discovering new facts and locations of ancestors is like finding buried treasure, and finding living 3rd and 4th cousins is equally exciting. Find A Grave is a wonderful research tool. My main mission is to map as many graves as I can so that others' family members and my own can be found more easily, especially in large cemeteries. I especially enjoy mapping graves in historic cemeteries in the area and cleaning headstones that are illegible from years of dirt and algae accumulations. I also have mapped fellow members in my church's columbarium at Providence United Methodist Church and added photos from our church directories of the past 4.5 decades - keeping their memories alive.
