The Van Koughnett family originated in Switzerland, lived in the Alsace and Germany, emigrated to North America to the colonies, were involved in the American Revolution on both sides, and my side of the family went to Canada as United Empire Loyalists. In Canada the family was initially located in southeastern Ontario and subsequent generations have shifted to western Canada.

The Lowenberg family originated in Germany (and perhaps Switzerland), lived in Galicia, Austria, emigrated to North America, and my ancestors went to western Canada primarily to Saskatchewan. From saskatchewan subsequent generations have shifted throughout Canada and also into America.

The Trites family originated in Germany, emigrated to North America to the colonies, and my wife's ancestors went to eastern Canada to what is now New Brunswick in 1766. The Trites descendants can be found throughout Canada and America.

The Chapman family originated in England and emigrated to Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia later was divided into two colonies - Nova Scotia and New Brunswick - post the American Revolution. My wife's ancestors were originally in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and their descendants can be found throughout Canada and America.

The Cowley family is English and my ancestors were primarily in western England. My grandmother was a war bride and came to Canada after World War 1. The Cowley family can be found worldwide.

The Ayrhart family originated in Germany, emigrated to the North American colonies, and similar to the Van Koughnett family were United Empire Loyalists and located in what is now Ontario.

I attempt to link family members and add missing family members if information and documents support their addition, e.g. an obituary or death registration. I will add documents as photos while realizing such documents may contain errors of memory.

In my searches I go as far as the information takes me widely through generations of related families. I add dates and locations and maiden names if known and encourage everyone to do the same. Your help through suggestions is very helpful.
